This is the first part of a nice new series of videos on birdwatching basics from All About Birds. I will share them all here and will likely be recommending them to my students and aspiring Fresno Bird Count volunteers as an excellent way to develop their birding skills. No substitute to actually spending time outdoors with binoculars and a field guide, of course - but on rainy days like this weekend, you could do worse than watch these videos!
